Cabin Efjord – Nordland, Norway – HUUM

Cabin Efjord is an award-winning private country home that was designed by Snorre Stinessen.

It blends in with the nature, and belongs to a Norwegian couple. Its owners wished for the house to be a part of nature. The spatial plan of Cabin Efjord’s rooms is based on the movement of the Sun. Most external walls of the house are made of glass to uncover the extensive views of the mountains and the fjords. This has given the surrounding nature a vital role in the interior design of the building and the sauna. Wood, glass, concrete and various stone surfaces are the predominant materials used.

The eye-catching feature of the glass-walled sauna is a round HIVE electric sauna heater that accentuates the beauty of the natural sauna rocks.
